This was the third time within the span of a few weeks that a member of Trump’s administration cited a terrorist attack that never happened in order to justify his travel ban.
Previous attacks that never took place were reported by Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer and were referred to as “alternate facts.”
The third time, it was Trump himself.
2How We Know It Wasn’t True
Shortly after this was reported in the news, Carl Bildt, the former prime minister of Sweden sent out a Tweet to the effect that there had been no terrorist attacks there.
Sweden’s official Twitter account, which is run by a different Swedish citizen each week, also reported that nothing had happened in their country.
